  • EC Withdrawal Agreement

    The EC has recommended that the Council endorse the agreement reached at negotiator level on the Withdrawal Agreement, including a revised... Protocol on Ireland / Northern Ireland, and approve a revised Political Declaration on the framework of the future EU-UK relationship. The Commission also recommends that the European Parliament give its consent to this agreement. It notes that, apart from the revised Protocol with regard to Ireland, all other elements of the Withdrawal Agreement remain unchanged in substance, as per the agreement reached on 14 November 2018.   • ESMA: Peer review into supervisory actions aiming at enhancing the quality of data reported under EMIR

    ESMA has published the results of a peer review it conducted into supervisory actions of six national competent authorities regarding their... approaches at enhancing the quality of derivative data reported under EMIR. It found that the French, Irish and Dutch authorities were broadly meeting the peer review’s expectations for national competent authorities regarding overall supervisory approaches to EMIR data quality, but the Cypriot, German and UK authorities appeared to be at an earlier stage of the supervisory lifecycle in terms of supervising EMIR data quality.
