FCA intends to: consult on new rules to improve climate-related disclosures by certain firms and clarifying existing obligations; finalise rule changes requiring IGCs to oversee and report on firms’ ESG and stewardship policies, as well as separate rule changes to facilitate investment in patient capital opportunities; publish a FS in response to a joint DP with FRC on stewardship setting out actions to address the most significant barriers to effective stewardship and clarify its expectations around consumers’ access to green financial products and services.

  • The Hybrid and Other Mismatches (Financial Instruments: Excluded Instruments) Regulations 2019/1345

  • CP19/28: Discretionary commission models and disclosure in motor finance

    FCA has announced plans to prohibit the way in which some car retailers, and other brokers in the motor finance sector,... receive commission. FCA has found that discretionary commission models have led to higher finance costs for consumers and adds that firms are also often failing to give customers timely and relevant information. The CP consults on proposals to prohibit commission models that can give brokers and motor dealers an incentive to increase a customer’s interest rate and to amend parts of rules and guidance relating to the disclosure of commission arrangements with lenders. Responses are required by 15 January 2020.
