  • PSR: Confirmation of payee

    Further to CP19/4, PSR has now published feedback and PS19/4 (Specific Direction 10). From 31 December 2019, the UK's six... largest banks must respond to confirmation of payee requests and ensure that receiving/sending banks can communicate with each other. From 31 March 2020, directed banks must send confirmation of payment requests and notify the payer of the outcome, ensuring that anyone setting up a payment will be alerted if the name on the recipient account does not match, is incorrect or misspelt, so that it can be corrected before a payment is made.
