CMS Annual Review of developments in English oil and gas law

United KingdomScotland

Welcome to the 2021 edition of the CMS Annual Review of developments in English oil and gas law, featuring commentary and analysis on the latest developments in English oil and gas law.

This year’s version of the Annual Review reflects both the challenges and opportunities presented by the pandemic. Courts and tribunals have successfully shifted to online hearings meaning the past twelve months have seen interesting oil and gas court decisions and arbitral awards. This Annual Review has been collated with input from across CMS’ jurisdictions and practice areas to be relevant to you, with a direct focus on legal developments impacting companies in the oil and gas industry.

The 2021 Annual Review deals with recent case law in JOAs, transportation agreements, decommissioning projects, M&A and tax, environmental, social and governance responsibilities and liabilities of oil and gas companies and more issues that impact the negotiation, drafting and administration of contracts in the oil and gas industry.
