FSA guide for employers

United Kingdom
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) have published a useful guide for employers who offer stakeholder pensions or group personal pension plans. It considers the implications for such employers under the financial services regime and deals with questions such as:

  • Does the fact that an employer chooses a pension arrangement for its employees mean that it needs to be authorised by the FSA?
  • Can the employer encourage employees to join the arrangement?
  • Does it make a difference if the employer gets any payment or similar benefit for helping the employees?
  • Can an employer produce its own information about the arrangement for its employees?
