Hungarian pharma authority suggests suspending promotional activities in hospitals

Hungary

Due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Hungary, the National Chief Medical Officer has ordered a ban on visits to all facilities providing inpatient specialised care in Hungary, effective from 1 November 2021.

In connection with this, the Hungarian pharmaceutical authority (OGYÉI) issued a communication applying the ban also to sales representatives engaged in promotional activities at healthcare providers providing inpatient care. The OGYÉI also recommends that all promotional activities requiring a physical presence which are aimed at healthcare professionals engaged in outpatient and basic care should be suspended too.
