On 29 May, the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) published its draft decision on the preferential prices for electricity from Renewable Energy Sources (RES), updated preferential prices for electricity from biomass and the premium price to be paid for RES power plants with total installed capacity of 1 MW and above.
The draft decision proposes the following decreases in the forecasted market or reference prices for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021:
- Solar energy: new price BGN 94.96 MWh (previous price, BGN 96.35 MWh);
- Wind energy: new price BGN 83.45 MWh (previous price, BGN 84.15 MWh);
- Water energy (power plants with total installed capacity up to 10 MW): new price BGN 90.95 MWh (previous price, BGN 83.36 MWh); and
- Biomass: new price BGN 90.01 MWh (previous price, BGN 87.87 MWh).
The updated preferential prices for the new period include:
- Rooftop and façade PV power plants with installed capacity up to 5 kWp: BGN 238.07 MWh;
- Rooftop and façade PV power plants with installed capacity above 5 kWp to 30 kWp: BGN 198.27 MWh;
- Biomass (wood) power plants with installed capacity up to 5MW: BGN 295.30 MWh.
