Chance to have your say on telecoms Leasehold Property Bill

The Telecommunications Infrastructure (Leasehold Property) Bill proposes to amend the 2017 Electronic Communications Code to provide a new process for telecoms operators to gain access to multi-tenanted buildings to install broadband infrastructure where landlords repeatedly ignore access requests. The Bill seeks to reduce the timescale for operators to obtain rights to enter a property to six weeks.

The Bill, which will be of interest to both landlords and operators, had its second reading in the House of Commons on 22 January 2020 and is now being considered by a Public Bill Committee.

The Committee is inviting written submissions regarding the Bill from interested parties before 5.00pm on Thursday, 6 February 2020 however it is recommended that any submissions are made as soon as possible.
