Crown Estate Scotland releases “Pre-Launch” ScotWind Leasing documents

Following the May 2018 launch of ScotWind Leasing, the new round of offshore wind leasing in Scotland, Crown Estate Scotland has now released near-final documentation to enable developers to start preparing their proposals ahead of the October launch.

Draft documentation available in the pre-launch includes:

  • ScotWind Leasing Offer Document
  • ScotWind Leasing Registration Form
  • ScotWind Leasing Application Form
  • Guidance Notes for ScotWind Leasing Registration and Application Form
  • Form of Option Agreement and Lease

While the documents are not in final form – and minor amendments are expected for the official launch – Crown Estate Scotland have confirmed that the main elements will remain unchanged.

Developers are urged to request draft documents by 30 August 2019, and interested parties are invited to give feedback on the pre-launch materials to Crown Estate Scotland.

Proposed timescales for ScotWind Leasing remain unchanged from the last update, although an update is expected by end September 2019:

ScotWind Leasing is distinct from The Crown Estate’s Round 4 process for offshore wind leasing in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which is also expected to launch later this year.
