The UK's vote to leave the European Union on 23 June 2016 will have limited impact on the regulation of the UK telecoms sector for at least the next two years whilst the terms of Brexit are settled.

However, over the medium term some of the various possible flavours of Brexit (e.g. EEA, EFTA, FTA, WTO-only) would allow the UK to potentially take a different approach to the rest of Europe in relation to telecoms regulation, and may result UK not adopting reforms currently being considered as part of the EU's review of the Digital Single Market.
