CMA delays release of provisional remedies in energy market investigation

United Kingdom
  • On 20 January 2016, the CMA announced that it would delay publication of the provisional remedies in its Energy Market Investigation until March. Publication had been due at the end of this month.
  • The CMA stated that the delay was to allow them more time to consider the responses received in relation to its provisional findings and possible remedies in relation to the prepayment sector of the market, which were published in December. For further details of this, please click here.
  • Publication of the CMA’s final report has also been delayed from April until June. The deadline for its report (which was extended by six months in September) is 25 June 2016.
