UPC London Division to be ready before spring 2016

On 16 September 2015, Baroness Neville-Rolfe, UK Intellectual Property Minister hosted a reception at Aldgate Tower, the location for the London Division of the UPC.

The Baroness thanked those who have been supporting the IPO on UPC issues and said, “We needed a location that was convenient, dignified and, given that patents are about innovation and novelty, preferably one that was modern. Aldgate Tower ticks all those boxes.” Key stakeholders were invited to a tour of the building and to review early designs for the Court. The UK IPO has indicated that, “Building work is expected to begin later in the year, and the facility is due to be completed before Spring 2016.
