FSA Update: Farrant leaves FSA

United Kingdom

In what will be seen by many as the final triumph of the IMRO approach to regulation, Richard Farrant, Chief Operating Officer since the formation of the FSA in October 1997, has now left FSA. Richard Farrant was formerly Chief Executive of SFA, and commentators in the national press have speculated on whether his departure is related to personality clashes resulting from the overwhelming influence of IMRO in the makeup of the new regulator. His responsibilities are being split between Paul Boyle, Chief Administrative Officer, and Sandra Jenner, Human Resources Director.
