Following on from its publication, in May 1997, of the IMRO
Compliance Arrangements Scorecard, IMRO has now published guidance
to assist firms to clarify and assess the compliance
responsibilities of their staff. In particular, the guidance makes
it clear that compliance is a matter for all staff, not just
compliance professionals.
The guidance provides helpful non-compulsory
assistance for firms in order to assist them to meet IMRO's
requirements, and in particular to assist them to deal with
compliance issues before they become regulatory problems.
The guidance includes a number of example
compliance profiles of senior staff, detailing the responsibilities
which they would be expected to take on and how they should liaise
with other staff to ensure that those responsibilities are
met.
