FSA announces further senior appointments 2

The FS has announced a number of appointments at or near director level.

Steven Davis, an economist at the Institute of Directors, was appointed Senior Economist, UK Economic Analysis on 14th April 1998. His previous responsibilities at HM Treasury gave him responsibility for forecasting, medium term policy analysis and monetary and exchange rate policy.

Christine Farnish, currently acting Deputy Director General at the Office of Telecommunications, has been appointed Director, Consumer Relations. She will report to Philip Thorpe, Managing Director and Head of Authorisation, Enforcement and Consumer Relations.

Michael Folger, formerly of Dean Witter Reynolds Inc., and currently Chief Executive of UK Nirex Limited has been appointed Director, Investment Business. He will report to Michael Foot, Managing Director and Head of Financial Supervision.

Gay Evans, current Managing Director at Bankers Trust Company and Chairman of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, has been appointed Director, Markets and Exchanges.

Peter Bibby, currently a partner at Dibb Lupton Alsop, has been appointed Head of Regulatory Litigation reporting to Dan Waters, Director of the Enforcement Division.
