Post-Brexit UK Trade Policy Summit

United Kingdom

Caroline Hobson, who leads our UK competition and trade team, is moderating a panel session (‘Towards an independent UK trade policy that works for business: A new EU partnership: what are the alternatives to single market membership?’) at the City & Financial Post-Brexit Trade Policy Summit in London on 8 November.

As well as assisting clients from the life sciences, infrastructure, financial services and manufacturing sectors with merger control and antitrust issues and advising government bodies, utilities and suppliers on public procurement, Caroline regularly advises on the application of EU and UK trade and sanctions rules, helping to identify risks in commercial transactions, applying EU free movement rules, and liaising with UK government agencies with regards to sanctions and export control matters.

Caroline has advised a variety of CMS clients and industry groups on the legal and trade implications of Brexit and the move to a new trading relationship, including the application of WTO rules to UK trade matters.

The one-day Post-Brexit Trade Policy Summit will look at the future of the UK’s trading relationship with the EU27 and the rest of world, giving manufacturers and service providers insights into the nature and likelihood of post-Brexit trading agreements to assist with their planning and decision making.
