Ukraine: Deregulation of Business Activities

Ukraine

On 23 August 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine announced that it has adopted an Action Plan for Deregulation of Business Activities in Ukraine for the years 2016-2017 (the “Plan”). The Plan purports to continue the on-going efforts of the Ukrainian government to deregulate the economy and facilitate doing business in Ukraine. The Plan apparently comprises a number of measures to improve the business environment in different sectors, including agriculture, telecommunication, infrastructure, construction, tax, as well as reforms to state customs procedures and sanitary and veterinary controls. These measures are expected to reduce the regulatory burden in these specific areas and to generally improve the business environment in Ukraine.

The text of the Plan is yet to be published and once available, we will follow up with an analysis of the specific measures envisaged by the Plan.
